Office of Community Corrections, Department of Public SafetyGlenn Tapia, MPA, is the Director of Community Corrections for the State of Colorado. Glenn has spent 26 years of his criminal justice career in adult and juvenile corrections in both community-based and institutional settings. Glenn is also working on contract with the Center for Effective Public Policy (CEPP) to assist Mesa County, Colorado, in their efforts to develop an evidence-based structure for sentencing and decision making systems.In the last 13 years of his career with the Colorado Department of Public Safety (Division of Criminal Justice) Glenn has been a strong advocate and facilitator of developing residential behavioral health treatment programs for community-based offenders. As part of the Colorado correctional administration system, Glenn has also been directly involved in interagency strategic efforts to implement evidence-based practices in both the correctional and behavioral health systems in Colorado. Glenn's background in formal training; risk/needs and behavioral health assessment and treatment; and evaluation of community correctional programs has given him a strong perspective in promoting effective interventions for offenders.Glenn holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver and was awarded the Outstanding Graduate for the Graduate School of Public Affairs in 1999. Glenn is also a graduate of the Metropolitan State College of Denver with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice/Criminology (1994).
