17th Judicial District Attorney's OfficeStephanie Fritts has been a prosecutor for over 16 years. She began her career at the Brooklyn DA's Office in 2006 in the Domestic Violence Bureau. In 2014, she joined the 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office in Adams and Broomfield County, CO. Stephanie created and currently oversees the Special Victims Unit (SVU) which is responsible for prosecuting sexual assaults, human trafficking and domestic violence crimes. Stephanie has handled hundreds of complex sexual assault cases and domestic violence cases, including domestic violence homicides. In 2021, Stephanie created the 17th Judicial District's Domestic Violence High Risk Team (DVHRT) and co-founded the 17th Judicial District Human Trafficking Task Force and Multi-disciplinary teams. Stephanie represents prosecuting attorneys on the Colorado Domestic Violence Offender Board and is serving her second term as chair of the board. Stephanie regularly trains attorneys, law enforcement, and community partners nationally and statewide on investigating and enhancing domestic violence and sexual assault cases.
