James C. Whiteside

James Whiteside currently serves as the Region VIII Center Director with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Whiteside is a member of the Illinois Bar and the bars for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. With HUD, Mr. Whiteside has previously served as the Regional FHEO Branch Chief for each subdivision of the office: Intake, Enforcement, and Program Compliance. Mr. Whiteside has supervised attorneys and law students litigating fair housing cases as an attorney in Illinois and conducted numerous fair housing trainings and lectures throughout HUD’s Region VIII.
