John . Douthit

John Douthit, MD, is a graduate of the University of Nebraska School of Medicine, Omaha, having grown up in a small town in central Nebraska. He came to Colorado after medical school and took his residence training in Orthopedic Surgery at Denver Health. He practiced in Ft. Collins introducing such new technologies as arthroscopy, total joint replacement, CT's and MRI's to his practice.  In 1990 he moved to south Denver and specialized in orthopedic trauma until retiring from emergency work 4 years ago. He has worked with workmen's injuries in Colorado for 30 years and was present at the creation in 1993 when the system changed and AMA Guide #3 was adopted.  He currently limits his current practice to consultation and analysis of claims for various insurers and both plaintiff and respondent attorneys. He is Level 11 Accredited by the Colorado Division of Workmens' Compensation and Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery. His topic will be the medical examinations of claimants.   He will discuss concepts in the evaluation of a workman's injury with review of records, the IME and assessment of tests and treatments.
