Honorable Cynthia Mares was appointed to the district court bench in the 18th Judicial District of Colorado in July 2018. She is currently assigned to a Domestic Relations docket. She was previously assigned to Lincoln County handling civil, probate, criminal, D&N and juvenile cases. Prior to that, she was a municipal court judge in Aurora, Colorado. She was also a public defender for 15 years as well as the Public Trustee for Arapahoe County. She recently joined the Colorado Judicial Institute as a board member. She obtained her bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado and her juris doctorate degree from the University of Denver.
