Floyd Anderson is the Vice President and Chief Patent Counsel at Avago Technologies, a leading supplier of analog interface components for communications, industrial and consumer applications. Floyd took his current position as the head of the Intellectual Property Department at Avago after transferring from Agilent Technologies who sold their semiconductor business to private investors in late 2005. He set up the IP function at Avago and currently manages an international team responsible for the patent portfolio, for licensing transactions, managing numerous IP litigations, and providing general IP legal support. In 2010 Avago won a summary judgment against Silvaco Inc. for bringing a baseless claim for misappropriation of trade secrets, and Avago also won a decision in the ITC against Emcore Corporation for infringing an Avago patent in the fiber optics field. Prior to joining Agilent in 2000, Floyd was an Assistant General Counsel Verizon, and previously worked at IBM and Motorola as a patent attorney.
