U.S. Immigration CourtHonorable Mimi E. Tsankov has been serving as a U.S. Immigration Judge since 2006. In that capacity, she has been appointed: (1) Chair of the Office of the Chief Immigration Judge (OCIJ) Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) Precedent Committee; (2) Denver Immigration Court Pro Bono Liaison Judge; (3) Liaison Judge for the Denver Immigration Courts; and (4) Contributing Editor of the Immigration Judge Benchbook. In her personal capacity, she serves as President of the Federal Bar Association (FBA) Colorado Chapter, and Secretary of the FBA Immigration Law Section. She has published articles in the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), Immigration Legal Advisor, and in various academic law journals. She speaks regularly before members of the immigration law community at international, national, and regional conferences. She teaches immigration law at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, and the University of Colorado, School of Law. She received a joint J.D.-M.A. in 1990 from the University of Virginia.
