Megan K. Matthews graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and has devoted her career to representing injured individuals and advocating for justice for victims of violence and war. Ms. Matthews is a civil trial attorney at Wahlberg, Woodruff, Nimmo & Sloane, LLP, where she currently primarily focuses on medical malpractice  claims.  Beyond  her  experience  in  complex  litigation,  Ms.  Matthews  specializes in appellate writing. As a member of the Amicus Committee of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, Ms. Matthews has authored numerous amicus briefs in support of access to justice for individuals. Additionally, Ms. Matthews has been an adjunct professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of law for the past 11 years and is the coach of the school's prestigious Jessup International Law Moot Court Team. Prior to her work as a civil trial attorney, Ms. Matthews worked on rule of law programs for international maritime piracy and worked in the Office of the Prosecutor at the United Nation's Yugoslavian criminal tribunal. Ms. Matthews served in the Colorado Attorney General's criminal appellate division and in the appellate division of the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office. She is a frequent lecturer at continuing legal education events and has been consistently recognized as a Rising Star and then Super Lawyer by “Colorado Super Lawyers.”
