Tim Bounds, Esq., his legal career was shaped by his love of education, a knack for numbers and a mentor who came in the form of a district court judge in South Carolina who was a close friend of his family. After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Finance from the Moore School of Business, he continued his pursuit of education at law school in his hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. During his time in law school, Tim discovered that his natural fit was tax law and his career path was born. After completing his Juris Doctor in 2010, Tim took, and passed, the bar exam in South Carolina. Shortly after taking the bar in South Carolina, Tim traveled to Denver to pursue a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. The LL.M. program at Denver is consistently ranked among the best in the country. Since he had been to Colorado on family ski trips as a child Tim felt Denver was a win/win choice given his love for the outdoors and the opportunity to receive a top-notch education. He completed his LL.M. degree in 2011 and has practiced law here ever since. Tim joined Evans Case, LLP as an associate in May 2014. Prior to joining Evans Case, Tim practiced for a small firm in Parker, Colorado, and then moved on to regulatory and compliance work for a Fortune 500 Company. At Evans Case, Tim focuses his practice on estate planning, transfer tax planning, estate administration, and probate. His LL.M. degree makes him uniquely qualified to advise his clients on all estate planning matters. Tim aspires to deliver superior service to his clients that will provide them with the legal protection they need. Outside of the office, Tim is an active member of the Denver Legal Community. Tim is a member of the Executive Council of the Trust and Estate Section of the Colorado Bar Association, and also co-chairs a subcommittee of that section. Tim also serves on the executive board of the Estate Planning Council of Southeast Denver, and is a member of the Rocky Mountain Estate Planning Council. Additionally, Tim is deeply committed to making his community a better place. He is on the executive board of VSA Colorado, which supports people with disabilities who have artistic talent and are transitioning from high school to adulthood. As president of the Denver alumni chapter of the Charleston School of Law, Tim and fellow alumni commit to quarterly community service projects. These projects have included working at the Furry Scurry for the Denver Dumb Friends League and adopting families during the holidays in conjunction with the Salvation Army. Tim and his wife enjoy the great Colorado outdoors and regularly golf, ski, hike and are past participants in the Bike MS cycling ride which benefits people with multiple sclerosis. Their two dogs, Maggie and Jameson, are currently their pride and joy.
