Steve Suneson, Esq., is a partner of the law firm of Coan, Payton & Payne, LLC, a multi-disciplinary, full-service business and real estate law firm with offices in Denver, Fort Collins and Greeley.  Steve practices in the areas of business law and commercial transactions, including: mergers and acquisitions, Canada, cross-border and international transactions, commercial contracts, secured transactions, private equity, along with corporate structure and governance. He is a graduate from the University of Colorado (B.A., cum laude, with honors and distinction, 1997) and a Phi Kappa Phi graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School (J.D., cum laude, 2000). Upon graduation, Steve began his corporate and business career and practice in corporate law and private equity as a lawyer at a large international corporate law firm in New York City. Steve then focused his corporate and business practice in corporate law, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, international, cross-border and Canada practice, and private equity, for over a decade as an attorney at a boutique corporate law firm in Buffalo, New York. Steve is rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell's Peer Review Ratings. In addition to his corporate and business practice in Denver, Colorado, Steve has substantial cross-border and international experience assisting foreign companies who are doing business in the United States and assisting US companies who are doing business abroad. His international transactions practice focuses on the following sectors: technology, software development and licensing, manufacturing, distribution, retail, services and construction. Steve regularly deals with complex cross-border issues such as U.S.-foreign nation income tax treaties, U.S. withholding tax on payments to foreign ownership, intercompany cross-border agreements, transfer pricing agreements, as well as other complex cross-border legal and tax issues. Steve serves on the Executive Counsel for the Business Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association. Steve also founded and is Chair of the International Business Transactions Joint Subsection of the Business Law and International Law Sections of the Colorado Bar Association.  Steve works out of the firm's Denver, Colorado office.
