W. Douglas Hoak, Esq., assists clients with estate planning, estate and trust administration, transfer tax and charitable planning, and business succession planning. Doug founded Illumine Legal LLC in 2019 after practicing in a boutique estate planning firm and a multi-disciplinary downtown Denver law firm. Doug is a member of the Denver Estate Planning Council and has acted on its Board of Directors, has spoken and lectured in the areas of estate planning and administration, and has been recognized by Colorado Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in estate planning and administration in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Doug is originally from Montana, and prior to completing his undergraduate degree, was a Midnight Sun Hotshot with the Alaska Fire Service in Fairbanks, Alaska. As a wildland firefighter, Doug fought fire in two of the largest fire seasons in history to that time. Doug is married and has two children.
