Kimberly Barr, Esq., focuses her law practice on helping new and established nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations with their governance, federal and state compliance, operational, and other legal matters. She currently serves as Special Counsel for the law firm, Lyons Gaddis, PC in Longmont, Colorado, where she also handles estate planning and administration matters for clients. Prior to joining Lyons Gaddis, PC, Kimberly owned her own law firm and served in executive leadership roles with several national nonprofit organizations. In addition, she spent ten years in Washington, DC as a Congressional staffer, a White House law clerk, an enforcement attorney for a federal regulatory agency, and a federal lobbyist for the nation's largest community college system. Since 2015 Kimberly has been actively involved with the Community Foundation Boulder County, including serving as a Board Trustee and chairs of the Community Foundation's Legal Committee and Governance Committee. Kimberly has her B.A. from Louisiana State University and her J.D. from The Columbus School Law at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. As the daughter of a U.S. Marine, she relocated quite a bit as a child but considers her home to be Colorado and her roots to be in both South Dakota and New Orleans.
