Lichter ImmigrationMari Matsumoto focuses on removal defense, family-based immigration, immigration options for victims of crimes, and humanitarian applications. She formerly worked as an Associate Attorney in Seattle, Washington at the law firm of Gibbs Houston Pauw, where she was co-counsel on a nationwide federal class action challenging USCIS's interpretation of regulations governing immigrant religious workers. Upon moving to Denver, she worked for the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network (RMIAN) as a contract attorney for the Legal Orientation Project at the Aurora ICE / GEO detention center. She is the former co-chair of the New Members Division for Washington State's chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and interned as a law student for the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP). She is also a former law clerk of the Washington State Attorney General's Office. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Law in 2007, and earned her Master's degree from the University of Washington Department of Romance Languages and Literature in 2006.
