Simon Tolbert, Esq., CPL, is the managing attorney of Mountain States Energy Attorneys & Advisors, PLLC d/b/a Tolbert Law Office, PLLC based in Denver, Colorado. His practice focuses on oil and gas title examination, estate administration and planning, probate and real property litigation. He has written numerous title opinions covering mineral title in Colorado, North Dakota, New Mexico, Texas, Utah and Wyoming, served as local counsel to alternative energy projects, litigated complex probate cases. Mr. Tolbert has written articles in trade publications on oil and gas title topics including reservations into stranger-to-title and right of first refusal clauses in oil and gas leases. Before practicing as an attorney, Mr. Tolbert worked for over five years as an independent petroleum landman in Texas and Colorado and served in the Marine Corps Reserve as a Logistics Officer. Mr. Tolbert earned his J.D. from the University of Kansas and holds a B.A. from Rhodes College. He is admitted to the bar associations of Colorado, North Dakota, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.
