Betty Lehman is a Metro Denver, CO Disability Advisor with Lehman Disability Planning LLC. The former ED of the Autism Society of CO, Betty led efforts for passage of 14 Colorado laws to support and protect thousands of individuals with disabilities. In addition to two children's Medicaid Waivers and several private health insurance mandates, Betty spearheaded an autism treatment law which generates more than $100 million annually in funding for treatment. Betty advises on benefits and resources as well as supports families to identify the principles and values they want upheld for their children's care. Betty coaches to create a Letter of Intent document expressing everything someone would need to know to step into a parent's shoes. As a parent of an adult with special needs, Betty walks the parent walk and understands the need for a quality life for every member of the family. Betty's goal as an advocate and ally is to educate, inform and empower families to create their comprehensive, coordinated life care plan for much deserved peace of mind. Betty's numerous awards include Castle Rock Chamber's Woman of Influence Award, Firefly Autism's Luminescence Heartlight Award, Women Who Changed the Heart of the City, Outstanding Women in Business (Denver Business Journal), CCMU's Community Leader of the Year, Colo. Nonprofit's William Funk Award, Child Health and Welfare Award from the CO Chapter of the AAP, and CPA's Who Make a Difference Award.
