Brett M. Martin

17th Judicial District Court
Honorable Brett Martin is a District Court Judge in the 17th Judicial District and currently presides over a Domestic Relations docket. He was appointed by Governor Polis in January 2021. Prior to serving as a District Court Judge, he was a Chief Trial Deputy District Attorney at the 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office. During his nearly 11 year tenure at the District Attorney's Office he tried over 50 jury trials, ranging from misdemeanor DUI and domestic violence cases to homicides and child victim cases. He supervised the County Court, Juvenile, and Child Victim Units and regularly taught trial techniques at the District Attorney's Office and for the Colorado District Attorneys' Council.
