Zeynep Biringen, Ph.D., is a tenured professor in the Department of Human Development & Family Studies at Colorado State University (where she has been active in research on attachment/emotional availability in non-divorced and divorcing families for the past 14 years), a licensed clinical psychologist in Colorado since 1996 providing therapy services, and President of emotionalavailability.com, llc in Boulder (www.emotionalavailability.com), where she trains and provides services using the evidence-based Emotional Availability (EA) Scales and intervention programs (also known as EA Book Clubs) based on this system to help children and families. Through www.emotionalavailability.com, she provides both distance/online training for professionals on the use of these evidence-based systems as well as live trainings in Boulder and several locations around the world each year. She has analyzed thousands of hours of observations of caregiver-child relationships around the world and has trained professionals in 24 countries and 6 continents. She received her master’s degree from Stanford University and Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley, and completed her child clinical internship at Montefiore Hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. She is the author or coauthor of almost 60 scientific publications and two books, Raising a Secure Child and the newly released Universal Language of Love. She is a member of the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD) and the World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH).
