Wes Brown is a Managing Director in KPMG's Corporate Finance Practice in the U.S. based in Denver. He specializes in merger transactions and debt and equity financings for financial service companies. Wes leads the Financial Services Group for Commercial Banks but has experience with wealth management, insurance, and specialty finance companies. He has assisted companies in these strategic capital transactions since 1981, completing over 125 transactions totaling in excess of $3.5 billion. He has personally worked on approximately half of all bank and thrift merger transactions that have occurred in Colorado since 1993. Prior to joining KPMG, in 2005 Wes co-foundered St. Charles Capital and served as its first President. The firm grew into the leading investment banking firm based in Denver before being acquired by KPMG Corporate Finance LLC. He served as Executive Vice President of The Wallach Company beginning in 1991 and managed The Wallach Division for KeyBanc Capital Markets after it was acquired in 2000 through 2003. From 1981 to 1990, Mr. Brown served as Senior Vice President in the Corporate Finance Department of Boettcher & Company. He teaches at the Graduate School of Banking associated with the University of Colorado and frequently speaks at various banking conferences throughout the U.S. Mr. Brown has served either as President or Chairman of the Board's of the Denver Public Library Commission, Denver Public Library Friends Foundation, the Iliff School of Theology, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, the Steering Committee to the Geography and Map Division of the Library of Congress, and the Rocky Mountain Map Society. He is currently a Field Active Member of Alpine Rescue Team.
