She specializes in creating and executing tailored intellectual property strategies for early-stage hardware companies with complicated technologies. Prior to joining the firm, Yoriko was a senior patent agent at an intellectual property boutique law firm in Louisville, Colorado where she worked with a range of clients on patent and trademark matters in prosecution and litigation. Previously, she worked as an IP Strategy Consultant and Patent Advisor at an intellectual property advising and consulting company that caters to individuals, small companies, and investors where Yoriko focused on due diligence, IP asset management, patent prosecution, in- and out-licensing, business analysis, and contract negotiation. Yoriko has worked with and within startups since grad school, from working with an early-stage research and development company on an engineering project, writing the first patent applications for founders to protect their core product ideas, helping entrepreneurs enforce their patent rights, and managing the intellectual property portfolio of growing companies. Having started three companies herself, Yoriko thoroughly understands the intricacies and challenges of entrepreneurship.
