Kurtis T. Morrison
Colorado Department of TransportationKurtis Morrison is the director of legislative affairs for the Governor's Office for the State of Colorado, and serves as an advisor to the Governor on transportation and infrastructure law. In this role, Morrison manages the Executive Branch's legislative agenda before the Colorado General Assembly, and oversees the efforts of all department legislative personnel. Prior to his current position, he served as the legislative liaison/legislative counsel for the Colorado Department of Transportation, a role he held for three years. At the Department, he managed CDOT's policy and budget priorities before the General Assembly, Colorado congressional delegation, and federal transportation agencies. Morrison also advised the Senior Management Team, Executive Director, and Colorado Transportation Commission on public policy matters and transportation law. Prior to his service at the Department, Morrison served in several legislative offices, including as staff person and analyst for the House Committee on Transportation and Energy of the Colorado General Assembly, and for a former member of the United States Senate. Currently, Morrison serves on a number of state boards and commissions including the State Capitol Building Advisory Committee. Kurt Morrison holds a J.D. from the University of Denver, a M.A. from George Washington University, and a B.A. from Creighton University.
