Dana L. Kaersvang

Dana Kaersvang, Esq., is a partner at Deutsch Hunt with a practice focusing on appeals in civil cases. She is an experienced appellate advocate who has handled over 130 matters in federal courts of appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court and argued fifty cases in eleven federal courts of appeals. Dana has expertise in litigating challenges to executive actions, particularly under the APA, and in complex procedural and threshold issues that arise in tort suits involving the United States. Prior to joining Deutsch Hunt in 2025, Dana served for over 15 years at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Appellate Staff of the Civil Division. Dana earned her J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School and her B.S.E. in computer science cum laude from Princeton University. Following law school, Dana clerked for Judge Stephen Reinhardt on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and was a Fulbright Fellow in The Netherlands at the Appellate Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunals for Rwanda and the Former Yugoslavia.
