Melissa Walter has served the Jefferson County Courthouse in a variety of roles for the past 26 years. She began her career in March 2000 while still in high school, working part-time as an Office Assistant in the County Attorney’s Office while simultaneously attending college full-time and maintaining a second job. Her dedication and work ethic soon led to a full-time position as a Legal Secretary. In 2014, Melissa transitioned into one of the courthouse’s newly established Self-Represented Litigant Coordinator positions, where she served for 11 years. In June 2025, she advanced to the role of Family Court Facilitator. Melissa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
