Snell & Wilmer LLPEllie Lockwood is a trial and litigation partner in the Denver office of Snell & Wilmer LLP. Lockwood began practicing law after she received her J.D. in 2010 from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she graduated second in her class. Lockwood's practice focuses on commercial, IP, and fiduciary disputes. She also has substantial experience with seeking or opposing preliminary relief, contempt, postjudgment proceedings, and appeals.
Lockwood also has an active pro bono practice. In 2015, she represented the State Public Defender in an action against the Denver County Court challenging its bond-setting practices. She also is part of the team of lawyers representing a non-profit entity in civil rights litigation against the State of Colorado to ensure timely competency evaluation and treatment for pretrial detainees suffering from mental illness. Lockwood is an active member of the Colorado Lawyers Committee, including serving as YLD co-chair of Denver Legal Nights.
Since 2015, Lockwood has been selected as a Colorado Rising Star by Super Lawyers. She has received numerous recognitions for her pro bono efforts in our community, including receiving Denver Bar Association's Volunteer of the Year award in 2018.
