Lauren W. Matthews is a partner with Matthews Michalak Reis LLC, where her practice focuses primarily on natural resources title examination, including reviewing and interpreting industry contracts, drafting curative documents, representing clients in probate and determination of heirship proceedings, and creating templates for a more efficient work product.
Ms. Matthews is from the small town of Ozona, Texas. She moved to Colorado to study psychology at the University of Denver, where she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society and graduated magna cum laude in 2002. Ms. Matthews later returned to Texas to attend Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in Dallas. After graduating cum laude in 2008, Ms. Matthews permanently returned to Colorado and began her career in the oil and gas industry as an associate with a small Denver law firm specializing in mineral title examination.
Ms. Matthews is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Texas. She served on the Executive Council of the CBA Natural Resources and Energy Law Section (past chair 2015-2016), and is a member of the Oil, Gas & Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, the Denver Association of Oil and Gas Title Lawyers, and the Denver Association of Petroleum Landmen.
