Amy Pohl, Esq., is the Legal Director at Project Safeguard. She has been working in the field of domestic and sexual violence advocacy for almost 20 years, in a variety of capacities: as both a direct service provider for victims and at the systems advocacy level. She started this work during law school, when she served as Director of the Domestic Violence Legal Assistance Clinic. She went on to join the Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault as a Staff Attorney representing victims of DV in civil cases. Later, as the Associate Director at Violence Free Colorado (the state’s DV Coalition), she worked with DV programs across the state to enhance and improve responses to gender-based violence. She has developed and conducted trainings and provided legal technical assistance for professionals throughout Wyoming and Colorado, and at national and international conferences.
