Charles E. Swanson, Esq., is an associate in the Denver, Colorado office of McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP. His practice focuses on commercial and government contracts litigation.  Charles has developed specific experience in contract disputes, both in the private commercial context and in the federal contracting arena, in trade secret issues, and in the federal False Claims Act. He has assisted a contractor with the dismissal of all of a subcontractor's claims alleged in a federal district court breach of contract action. Recently, he used technology assisted review to assist a client with reviewing a large volume of electronically stored information. In 2008, Charles worked as a MLA summer associate and part-time law clerk. In 2007, he interned with Senior Judge John L. Kane of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado and Judge Dennis A. Graham of the Colorado Court of Appeals. Charles graduated from the University of Colorado Law School, where he served as a student note editor of the Journal on Telecommunications and High Technology Law and as chapter president of the American Constitution Society. He received his B.A. in History from Rice University. Before attending law school, Charles served as the Director of Housing and Economic Development for a Colorado non-profit real estate developer. He also worked as a Constituent Services Representative at the office of United States Senator Max Cleland of Georgia, where he focused on immigration matters and federal grant funding.
