John B. Viverito
Office of the Colorado Attorney GeneralJohn Viverito, Esq., graduated from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago and started his career working as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago's Department of Law, where he practiced for 8 years. There he had over 20 jury trials to verdict and also defended the City of Chicago's Department of Revenue in workers compensation administrative hearings. Prior to joining the Colorado Attorney General's office, John worked in Colorado at a private insurance defense firm and as in-house counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Before representing the Marijuana Enforcement Division exclusively, he was part of the Conservation Easement Litigation Unit where the team received the 2014 Attorney General Award for Exceptional Performance for the team's work in resolving 170 separately filed district court actions involving complex legal issues resulting in the recovery of $100 million in tax revenue. Since joining the team representing the Marijuana Enforcement Division, he's had the opportunity to work closely with the client in resolving complex cases, participated in the rulemaking process, and now focuses his efforts on handling litigation matters and devising efficient litigation protocols in representing the Marijuana Enforcement Division.
