Michal A. Lord-Blegen

17th Judicial District

The Honorable Michal A. Lord-Blegen was appointed as district court judge in the 17th Judicial District in June 2025. Prior to her appointment, Judge Lord-Blegen served as a magistrate in the 17th and in the Denver District Court. In both the 17th and Denver, her dockets have primarily consisted of family law, and most recently juvenile matters. Judge Lord-Blegen began her legal career as a solo practitioner dealing with criminal and family law matters. She then was one of the founding partners of a firm that focused on family law and mediation. She was appointed as a Child and Family Investigator on nearly 300 cases. Prior to practicing law, Judge Lord-Blegen served as an educator for nearly 20 years, serving in Compton, CA, Page, Arizona and Aurora Colorado.
