Ann England teaches in the Criminal Defense Clinic at the University of Colorado School of Law. Ms. England has been a clinical law professor at CU Law School since 2005. Prior to becoming a clinical law professor, she worked at the Federal Public Defender's Office and at the Colorado State Public Defender's Office, where she served as a deputy state public defender in Arapahoe, Adams, Weld, Logan and Denver counties. She later became a division lead at the Colorado State Public Defender's Office in Denver. Ms. England received her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 1995 and her B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1990. At the University of Colorado School of Law, Ann has been the volunteer director of the Colorado Innocence Project at Colorado Law for the past five years. She coaches the National Mock Trial teams and has regularly taught trial advocacy. She coordinates the National College of Capital Voir Dire seminar, which is held annually at the law school and is a nationally recognized training for defense attorneys who litigate death penalty cases. In 2014, she served as the Interim Assistant Dean of Admissions while the current Assistant Dean was on maternity leave. In the fall of 2015, she returned to the Criminal Defense Clinic, where she continues to work with law students in representing indigent defendants accused of crimes.
