Daniel Sherwinter is a senior patent attorney with the Denver office of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton. His practice focuses on strategic intellectual property portfolio development with an emphasis on patent prosecution in the electronics, software, and mechanical arts. He counsels individuals and start-ups to the largest patent filers in the world in a wide range of strategic and technical disciplines. Previously, Danny was a partner at Marsh Fischmann & Breyfogle, a Colorado-based boutique IP law firm. Prior to launching his legal career, Danny was a research and development project manager at The Boeing Company, where he designed and analyzed electrical systems for various tactical aircraft programs and co-invented patented techniques for reverse engineering structural data from legacy aerospace platforms. Danny is a long-time adjunct professor and clinical instructor at the University of Colorado in both the School of Law and the Masters of Engineering Management Program, where he teaches courses on strategic IP counseling, patent law, and business law for engineers, and advises its Patent Clinic. He is a past Chair of the Colorado Bar Association IP Section.
