Mark Evans, Esq., has practiced with the Colorado State Public Defender's Appellate Division since 2009, handling appeals of felony convictions and juvenile adjudications ranging from drug possession to first degree murder. In addition to directly representing clients, he has a special interest in developing policies to ensure involvement with the criminal justice system is not a lifelong impediment to individuals' success. He has authored comprehensive guides on the collateral consequences associated with convictions and adjudications, helped pass legislation fortifying the pretrial diversion disposition option, and served on a committee that facilitated the creation of numerous diversion programs statewide. Prior to joining the Public Defender's Office he clerked for the Honorable James S. Casebolt of the Colorado Court of Appeals.
