Colorado's Office of the Alternate Defense Counsel
Stacie Colling, Esq., is the Juvenile Defense Coordinator for Colorado's Office of the Alternate Defense Counsel (OADC), coordinating approximately 90 contract attorneys across Colorado.  Stacie previously represented hundreds of indigent juveniles and adults as a Colorado Deputy State Public Defender and through her own law office, Nelson Colling Law LLC. In 2015 Stacie was appointed by Colorado's Governor to the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Advisory Council, and serves as Chair of the Council's Professional Development Committee.  She also serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Denver youth advocacy through education non-profit “LYRIC” (Learn Your Rights in Colorado). Stacie co-authored There is No Meaningful Opportunity in Meaningless Data: Why it is Unconstitutional To Use Life Expectancy Tables in Post-Graham Sentences, published by the UC Davis Journal of Juvenile Law & Policy in the Summer of 2014.  In addition, she assisted in editing and updating the Colorado Juvenile Defender Coalition's Juvenile Practice Manual, assists in planning CJDC and ADC's annual Excellence in Juvenile Defense conference, and is active in many policy reform efforts. Stacie graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 2004.
