Laurie Rust, Esq., is a partner in the Employment Law and Commercial Litigation groups at Gordon & Rees and the Vice-Chair of the Hospitality Industry Group. She has extensive experience representing employers in state and federal courts in matters involving alleged violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Equal Pay Act (EPA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), the California Labor Code, the Colorado Wage Act, and the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act (CADA).  She routinely defends companies against employment-related charges and claims before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Colorado Civil Rights Division, and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment. Ms. Rust provides employment advice and counsel on a wide range of issues, such as hiring, discipline, termination, accommodating disability, wage and hour compliance, federal and state immigration compliance, recreational and medical marijuana, leaves of absence, social media, and trade secrets.  In addition, Ms. Rust works with employers to draft employment agreements, employee manuals, severance agreements, and other employment policies and procedures.  She regularly provides training on sexual harassment and all aspects of employment law.
