Emily advises on matters relating to clinical trials, human subject research protections, privacy, conflict of interest, provider/hospital transactions, intellectual property (IP) and information technology (IT). Prior to joining Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, Emily was Associate General Counsel at University of Colorado Health in Aurora, Colorado, Associate Counsel at Temple University Health System in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Associate Counsel and Compliance Officer at Vail Valley Medical Center in Vail, Colorado. Prior to law school, Emily worked in a biomedical research lab at Glaxo Wellcome in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, and in International Regulatory Affairs at Genzyme Corporation in Boston, Massachusetts. She is a member of the Academic Medical Centers & Teaching Hospitals (AMC-TH) Practice Group of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) and was a member of the inaugural Leadership Development Program of the AMC-TC. She is also the Secretary of the Health Law Executive Committee of the Colorado Bar Association. She frequently presents on topics related to clinical trials, human subjects research, privacy, IP and IT. Her most recent speaking engagements include the 2016 Colorado Bar Association CLE & Ski in Vail, Colorado (Issues Affecting Rural Hospitals and Providers) and 2015 Colorado Bar Association Health Law Section Series (Setting Up a Clinical and Research Enterprise Data Warehouse). Emily received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis and her law degree from Villanova University School of Law in Philadelphia.
