Almeta E. Cooper
Morehouse School of Medicine
Almeta E. Cooper currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia and serves as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) directing the legal affairs of the institution and is the secretary to the Board of Trustees. Prior to joining Morehouse School of Medicine, she was previously appointed as associate general counsel for health sciences and associate vice president for health sciences; ultimately becoming the executive director for HHS advocacy, regulatory and quality improvement programs at the Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center. A frequent lecturer on topics of medicolegal interest and past president of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA,) Almeta is an AHLA and American Bar Association Fellow, AHLA David J. Greenburg Service Award recipient, member of the Advisory Board of the Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Healthcare Industry Foundation and member of the Board of Directors of the Health Care Cost Institute.
