Adriana S. Luedke is of counsel to Barnes & Thornburg LLP’s Minneapolis office, where she is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department. Her practice includes all aspects of patent law. Ms. Luedke has litigated patent infringement matters involving technologies such as dental devices, Web browsers, genetically modified plants, microfluidics, and aluminum aircraft components.
 
Luedke’s patent prosecution and counseling primarily relate to electrical, computer and mechanical arts, including insurance and information networks, software and data processing methodologies, medical and dental devices, various mechanical devices and telecommunication systems. Her work includes preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications; patentability evaluations; infringement, enforceability and due diligence analyses; and developing worldwide intellectual property strategies. Luedke is an active member of the American Bar Association (ABA) Intellectual Property Law Section and has held a variety of leadership positions, including Section Secretary, chair of Division I (Patents), Patent Law Reform Task Force member, Division VIII chair (Meetings and Resolutions), and liaison to the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession. She is also a frequent speaker and author. Luedke earned her bachelor’s degree in engineering science from Dartmouth College and received her law degree with honors from George Washington University Law School.
 
During Law school, she served as an intern to Chief Judge Helen Nies of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She also worked at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Luedke is admitted to practice in Minnesota, the District of Columbia, and Florida and before the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the District of Columbia, and the Supreme Court of Florida. She is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Ms. Luedke worked for Dorsey & Whitney LLP in Minneapolis and Covington & Burling LLP in Washington, D.C.
