Representa t ion is limited primarily to debtors in both simple and complex m atter s . Mr. Swanson is current l y the President Elect of the State Bar of Wisconsin and serves on its Executive & Finance Committees. He is Past-Chair and continues to serve on the Continuing Legal Education Co m mittee of the State Bar, and is Past-Chair of the Bankruptcy Insolvency and Creditors Rights Section. He is a Past President of the State Bar Young Lawyers Division, served as Chair of the Board of Governors 2014-15, Treasurer for the term of 1994-1995, and has served on the Board of Governors for terms spanning 1987 to 1995 and 2008 through 2016. He also serves as the Co-Chair of the Advisory Board for the A m erican Bankruptcy Insti t ute Central States Conference. He has been a me m ber of t h e Bo a rd of Directors of the Eastern District of W isconsin Federal Bar Association. He is the Past President of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees (2005) and served on that Board from 1994 through 2006. He is current l y a Chapter 7 panel trustee in the Eastern District of W isconsin. He is the Co-Chair of the Federal Judicial Selection Commission for the State of Wisconsin. Mr. S w anson has and continues to lectur e on bankruptcy relat e d topics for the State Bar of W isconsin, University of W isconsin Law School, the National Advocacy Center for the United States Department of Justice, the A m erican Bankruptcy Insti t ute, and he organizes the bankruptcy section for the annual Law Education Inst i tute.
