Toni J. Wehman

Toni Wehman, Esq., joined Caplan and Earnest's litigation practice in September 2010 after serving three years as a prosecutor in the Seventeenth Judicial District (Adams/Broomfield counties). While a prosecutor, she conducted over 30 jury trials and handled cases ranging from juvenile delinquency matters to homicides. Ms. Wehman was deeply involved in creating a school outreach program on Cyberbullying, Sexting, and Internet Luring which was presented to over 5,000 students and parents in School Districts 27J and Adams 50. She received the 2010 Volunteer Attorney of the Year, Adams/Broomfield Bar Association. Additionally, Ms. Wehman also provided training on legislative and case law changes to fellow district attorneys and law enforcement officers across Colorado. Prior to her work as a prosecutor, Ms. Wehman was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Nancy E. Rice of the Colorado Supreme Court. Ms. Wehman earned her law degree from the University of Colorado in 2006 where she was an editor on the law review. Her student article entitled Not Part of the Game Plan: School District Liability for the Creation of a Hostile Athletic Environment, was published in the University of Colorado Law Review. Prior to going to law school, Ms. Wehman worked as a legislative assistant and press secretary for several members of the United States House of Representatives. She also did media and lobbyist training for several non-profit organizations in Minnesota. Drawing on her knowledge, skills and experience in dealing with the media, Ms. Wehman is uniquely qualified to assist clients not only with their legal issues, but with the media exposure that often accompanies them.  From the University of Minnesota, she earned a Masters in Public Policy (M.P.P.) in 1998 and was president of the Public Administration Student's Association. Her undergraduate degree is in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and received the Wall Street Journal Award for Highest GPA in Economics. Ms. Wehman enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing with her golden retriever Sophi.
