John P. Schmitz, Esq., began his professional career as a business analyst for a large bank, determining the creditworthiness of businesses based upon balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow projections.  He then became the Chief Financial Officer of a Seattle-based start-up company that is still a thriving business. Upon leaving the business, John attended New England Law Boston and graduated in the top one-third of his class. While at New England Law Boston, John clerked in the First Circuit for Chief Federal Magistrate Judge Marianne B. Bowler.  He went on to practice in the San Francisco area for a law firm in the realm of business litigation.  John then moved to Denver and has practiced intellectual property, corporate governance, employment matters, and mergers and acquisitions, and litigation since then. He's been the lead attorney on acquisitions and divestitures totaling more than $500,000,000 on the equity side and the lead attorney on many other due diligence requests and opinions.
