Steven Suflas is the Managing Partner of the Denver and Boulder offices of Ballard Spahr LLP, one of the 100 largest law firms in the country, where he concentrates his practice in the representation of management in all phases of labor and employment law. He also works out of the firm's New Jersey office. A member of the firm's Labor and Employment Group, he is a past Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section. Mr. Suflas was honored to be selected in the inaugural class as a Fellow in the American Bar Association's College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, has annually received the highest rating from Chambers and Partners in its directory of America's Leading Business Lawyers, and has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America since 1987. He also annually has been named as one of the “Top 100” employment attorneys in the nation by Human Resource Executive magazine. Mr. Suflas is a frequent author and lecturer, serving on the faculty for programs sponsored by the National Employment Law Institute, the American Bar Association, the American Law Institute, the Colorado Bar Association - CLE, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, and the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, among many others. Mr. Suflas served as a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court's Advisory Committee on Professional Ethics for a decade, as well as an appointee on the Court's Ad Hoc Committee on Continuing Legal Education. He also was a trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Mr. Suflas also serves on the National Advisory Panel for the National Employment Law Institute. Mr. Suflas received his Bachelors degree from Davidson College and his law degree, with honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he graduated Order of the Coif and was a member of the North Carolina Law Review.
