Laurence Z. Shiekman is Of Counsel with Pepper Hamilton LLP. He is an experienced trial lawyer who has spent a substantial amount of time on antitrust, intellectual property, securities and general commercial matters, both in court and in arbitrations. Mr. Shiekman was long active in firm leadership, having chaired Pepper's Finance Committee, having served as co-chair of the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department and as a member of the firm's Executive Committee, and having chaired the firm's Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Mr. Shiekman has spoken at the National CLE Conference for many years on a variety of topics. He also has participated in several NITA-type programs teaching trial skills to fellow attorneys and has taught trial advocacy at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Mr. Shiekman is listed in The Best Lawyers in America (2006-2018); and has been selected for inclusion on the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list every year since the list began. Mr. Shiekman joined Pepper in 1975 and became a partner in 1978, following a two-year judicial clerkship with the Honorable A. Leon Higginbotham, Jr., and two years teaching law school at Florida State University College of Law. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating cum laude. He transitioned to Of Counsel as of January 1, 2018.
