Ayo Labode is the principal of The Law Office of Ayo Labode, LLC, in Denver. Her practice is concentrated in the areas of elder law, estate planning, wills, probate, guardianships, and conservatorships. Ms. Labode has written a chapter for the Senior Law Handbook about selecting an appropriate nursing home or assisted living residence. Prior to starting her own law firm, Ms. Labode worked for almost five years as an ombudsman, an advocate for nursing home residents. She was responsible for investigating complaints from nursing home residents and their families about nursing home care and violations of resident rights. Ms. Labode is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor's degree in economics. She received her J.D. from Creighton University School of Law and her master's in health services administration from Regis University. She has studied for a year in both Brazil and Mexico. She is licensed to practice in Colorado and Nebraska. Ms. Labode is a member of the Elder Law and Trust and Estate sections of the Colorado Bar Association and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Sam Cary Bar Association, and the Women's Estate Planning Council. She enjoys spending time with her family, running, skiing, and doing anything in the mountains.
