Stephen Perkins is in-house counsel for intellectual property for the Surgical Innovations and GI Solutions businesses at Medtronic's Minimally Invasive Therapies Group (MITG) in Boulder, Colorado. Steve supports IP litigation, acquisition and prosecution strategy primarily for energy-based medical devices including RF and ultrasonic power sources and instruments, and the hardware and software that drives them. Prior to moving in-house at Medtronic, Steve was a patent litigator at Sidley Austin in Dallas, TX and Greenberg Traurig in Denver, CO. He has a dual degree in Mathematics (Westminster College in Fulton, MO) and Electrical Engineering (Washington University in St. Louis, MO), and a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
