Tara L. Dunn
HighMark Law LLCTara L. Dunn is President of HighMark Law LLC, a boutique corporate law firm in Denver. Prior to founding HighMark Law, she served as vice president and deputy general counsel of an NYSE-listed IT services company. Before her in-house experience, Ms. Dunn worked for ten years in private practice in national and international law firms. She has represented companies of all sizes, from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies, in a full spectrum of corporate and transactional work, including mergers and acquisitions, private placements, capital markets transactions, credit financings, public company matters, director and officer liability issues, corporate governance, and public offerings.
Ms. Dunn has written and lectured extensively on the fiduciary duties of corporate directors and officers, and was cited by the Delaware Supreme Court in its 2006 In re the Walt Disney Derivative Litigation opinion. She spent the first 11 years of her career pursuing her passion for business, partnering to help open and run Denver's Great Divide Brewing Company and, in 1995, cofounded The Colorado Brewers Guild. Since 2012, Ms. Dunn has served on the Board of Directors of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, where she is currently Board Chair. She has been recognized by Colorado Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” (2009, 2013-2015). Ms. Dunn received her B.A. in psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, her M.A. in counseling psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver, and her J.D. from the University of Denver, Order of St. Ives, in 2005.
