Karin Sullivan, Esq., develops creative and practical strategies for her clients. She counsels a range of businesses on acquiring, transferring, developing, licensing and commercializing intellectual property assets and negotiates agreements to accomplish her client's objectives. Karin's experience in commercial agreements and licensing crosses several industries from software, technology and health care to footwear, apparel and consumer products. Karin also has experience in corporate law and M&A transactions and works closely with M&A attorneys on deals where the transaction involves acquiring or selling IP assets. Karin also works with clients to develop intellectual property protection strategies and, in doing so, relies on her years of experience and ability to identify the right questions to ask to develop strategies that meet her clients' business needs. In addition, Karin focuses on providing practical guidance on branding strategies, trademark clearance and proper trademark usage. She works for her clients to obtain both U.S. and international registrations for their trademarks, copyrights and trade dress, and also has successfully negotiated and argued for resolution in disputes involving trademarks, copyrights, domain names and trade dress. Karin has represented clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). She also employs alternatives to litigation to resolve intellectual property disputes for her clients when appropriate.
