William L. LaFuze

William L. LaFuze practices in substantially all areas of intellectual property law, with an emphasis on electronics, oilfield equipment, and computer-related litigation. His computer-related practice has included representing companies in patent infringement, trade secret and other intellectual property litigation. Bill also has represented software developers, original equipment manufacturers, value-added resellers, and financial institutions in counseling, contract preparation, and litigation involving the purchase and sale of computer software and hardware. He has been substantially involved in counseling start-up, small, and established companies in the electronics and healthcare industries.  Bill's technology transaction practice includes preparing and negotiating license agreements, including software licensing and software development agreements; outsourcing agreements; technology development agreements; Internet and e-Commerce agreements; employment and consulting agreements; and contracts for the sale and distribution of goods. In addition, he has handled the intellectual property issues involved in numerous acquisitions, including transactions involving transnational issues. Bill's practice also includes trademark and patent prosecution, as well as counseling clients on a wide variety of intellectual property issues. In August 2004, Bill was named chair of the American Bar Association's Section of Intellectual Property Law.
