Honorable Lisa Teesch-Maguire is a retired District Court Judge in Denver. She presided over Criminal, Civil, and Domestic Relations cases. Prior to her appointment as a Judge in Denver, she served as a Magistrate Judge in the 18th Judicial District in Colorado. She also served as a Deputy District Attorney in Colorado’s 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and specialized in victims’ rights legal enforcement for prosecutors. She spent 3 1/2 years prosecuting mass-murder during the Aurora, Colorado movie theater shooting case. She was formerly the Legal Director for the Rocky Mountain Victim Law Center in Denver, which provides pro-bono victims' rights legal representation for victims of violent crime. Prior to her victims’ rights legal practice, she was a civil litigation associate at a small firm in Denver. Ms. Teesch-Maguire also served as the Criminal Division Chief of the Attorney General's Office in the U.S. Territory of American Samoa in the South Pacific. She has also worked for Colorado’s 20th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and Colorado’s 5th Judicial District Attorney’s office while assisting on the Kobe Bryant prosecution. She also spent three years working in the Colorado Legislature. Ms. Teesch Maguire received both her Juris Doctorate and Masters in Business Administration Degrees from the University of Colorado. She also studied international law in Sweden and international affairs in the Netherlands.
