Honorable Christina F. Gomez was appointed to the Colorado Court of Appeals in December 2019 and was sworn in in February 2020. Judge Gomez earned her undergraduate degree from Millsaps College and her law degree from Harvard Law School. Before coming to the Court of Appeals, she clerked for the Honorable Charles A. Pannell, Jr. at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and was an associate and then partner at Holland & Hart. Her work in private practice consisted primarily of handling civil, domestic, and administrative appeals in state and federal courts. Judge Gomez frequently speaks and writes about appellate topics. She has authored two chapters of the Colorado Appellate Handbook since 2009, has served as a co-editor of The Colorado Lawyer Appellate Practice Column since 2014, and co-chaired the CBA-CLE Annual Appellate Practice Update from 2011 to 2020. She is also active in access to justice efforts, including helping to create the Appellate Pro Bono Program and the Civil Appeals Clinic for self-represented litigants in the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
