Gregory Graf, Esq., was born and raised in Seaford, New York.  He attended Indiana State University between 1976 and 1980, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and International Affairs.  He received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1983. He was the editor of the Tulsa Law Journal and admitted to the Order of Barristers. Military: Colonel Graf was commissioned as the Honor Graduate from Officers Training School, Lackland AFB, TX.  He received his pilot wings at the Euro NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program, Sheppard AFB, TX.  He attended training in the RF-4 Phantom at Bergstrom AFB, TX and was the distinguished graduate of his class. From 1985-1988, Col Graf was assigned to the 18th Tactical Fighter Wing, Kadena AB, Japan.  He was an instructor pilot, flight examiner and large force employment mission commander.  Col Graf was also assigned to Detachment 1, 18th TFW, Osan AB, Republic of Korea.   Col Graf attended the PACOM Mission Commanders Course, Clark AB, Republic of the Philippines, the Electronic Warfare Officers Course at Hurlbert  AFS, FL and TAC Aces, Luke AFB, AZ. In 1989, Col Graf was assigned as an instructor pilot with the 436th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Holloman AFB, NM.  He separated from active duty in 1991.  Col Graf is was the Director for Operations, Air Staff, Colorado Air National Guard.  He was responsible for supervision of the 137th Space Warning Squadron, 200th Airlift Squadron and 120th Fighter Squadron.  He flew the F-16 as a combat mission ready pilot with the 120th Fighter Squadron, Colorado Air National Guard. In 1998-1999, Col Graf was part of the Stabilization Forces (SFOR) conducting peacekeeping duties in Bosnia and Herzegovina and was assigned as a legal advisor to the Office of the High Representative. Col Graf served as the chief of staff, Joint Task Force-West at a classified location during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He led a staff of 158 coalition men and women responsible for support of 140 combat aircraft and over 15,000 troops conducting combat operations in Western Iraq.  Col Graf played an integral role in planning and executing the air campaign in Western Iraq. Col Graf is the recipient of the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal (one oak leaf cluster), the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal (three oak leaf clusters), NATO Medal, Air Reserve Medal and Colorado Meritorious Service Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal (United Kingdom).  He is a command pilot with over 1800 hours in fighter aircraft including 21 combat missions. Legal Experience: From 1982-1984 Col Graf served as an Assistant District Attorney in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  From 1991 through 1997, Col Graf was as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Colorado.  He was assigned to the Criminal Division and the Organized Crime Division of the United States Attorneys Office.  During that time, he conducted over forty federal jury trials and has twenty-three published appellate decisions. From 1991-1993 he served as a reserve staff judge advocate with the 80th Missile Wing, F.E. Warren AFB, WY.  In 1993, he joined the Colorado Air National Guard and served as the State Judge Advocate for Colorado.  As a reservist and guardsman, Col Graf has served as a military judge, trial counsel or defense counsel in numerous courts martial and administrative proceedings under the Uniformed Code of Military Justice and Colorado Code of Military Justice. Col Graf was an adjunct faculty member of the Lester B. Pearson Canadian Peacekeeping Centre, Nova Scotia, Canada.  He has been a guest lecturer on international human rights, rules of engagement and operations law at numerous international symposiums concerning peacekeeping operations. Col Graf is a principal member in the law firm of Bertram & Graf, LLC.   His practice specializes in complex criminal defense and domestic relations law.  He is an Alternate Defense Counsel in the Colorado Court system. Col Graf holds the rating of an “AV' lawyer from the Martindale Hubble Law Directory.  Col Graf is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, United States Courts of Appeal for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits, United States Courts of Appeal for the Armed Forces and the Colorado Supreme Court.  He is also a member of the American Association for Justice (formerly ATLA), American Bar Association and was an instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
