David J. Anderman

LucasFilm Ltd.
David Anderman is the Director of Corporate Business Affairs for Lucasfilm Ltd., and serves as business and legal counsel to Lucasfilm and its related companies. Mr. Anderman is responsible for negotiation of Lucasfilm's technology transactions and merchandise licenses, online ventures, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate alliances, and real estate development deals, as well as matters relating to the production, distribution, and licensing of the company's films and other productions.  He also oversees the company's litigation and online enforcement of its intellectual property rights.  Mr. Anderman joined Lucasfilm in 1998. He began his legal career as an intellectual property litigator in the Palo Alto office of the law firm of Brown & Bain, and later joined the Menlo Park office of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Anderman frequently lectures on intellectual property, licensing, film piracy, and other issues relevant to the entertainment industry.  He also serves on the Board of Advisors of the Santa Clara Computer & High Technology Law Journal. Lucasfilm Ltd. is the parent company of the Lucas organization and consists of George Lucas' film and television production and distribution activities and the operations of its corporate headquarters, Skywalker Ranch. The other companies in the Lucas organization include Lucasfilm Animation Ltd., which produces feature length CG animated films, and Lucasfilm Entertainment Company Ltd., consisting of Lucas Licensing Ltd., which is responsible for the merchandising of all of Lucasfilm's film and television properties; Industrial Light + Magic and Skywalker Sound, which create visual effects and sound designs, respectively, for film and television productions; and LucasArts, the organization's software and online gaming business.
